Job Description

Install, maintain and repair all types of fire sprinkler systems and their components.

Work Scope

The fabrication, installation, testing, inspection and maintenance of all types of fire protection systems.

Apprentice Information

Working Conditions

Heavy lifting, climbing, working in aerial lifts of various heights, climbing ladders and working in all types of weather are required aspects of a sprinklerfitter.

Apprenticeship Training Period

5 years accredited time.

Related Instruction and Method

Two Saturdays per month classroom training of 8 hours each day.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED, physically fit to perform the work of the trade. Military discharge under other than dishonorable conditions (if applicable) and must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Probationary Period

6 months.

Tools

Contractor supplies all tools.

Current Journeyman Rate

$25.15 per hour plus benefits.

Apprentice Wage Progression Schedule

Staring pay is 45% of Journeyman's and advances 5% every six months if apprentice stays current in both school work and dues.

Estimated Annual Earning

$50,000 annually for Journeyman who works a full year. *

Fringe Benefits

Health and pension benefits after probationary period.

Union Dues

Initiation fee - $257.
Monthly Dues - $19.
